Our objective in research Aim 1.3 is to develop three novel functionalised paper-based products: fire-retardant building papers, antimicrobial papers, and paper-based electronic sensors. Novel functionalisation strategies will build on innovations in nanomaterials, antimicrobial surfaces and laser scribing developed by our key researchers. The composition and properties of the base grape marc paper will be varied according to the needs of the various technologies.
